6 Tips On How To Care For Your Car

6-tips-on-how-to-care-for-your-car

You’ve been driving for a while now and you feel that there’s nothing that can go wrong with your car right? Whatever made you think like that is really a problem. Like human beings, cars have limits as to how much they can go on. If you don’t care enough for your four-wheeler, it will fall apart.

In the end, you’ll never make it to the place you want to go and will feel bad that you didn’t find the time out of your schedule to cater to your land vehicle. So in order to ensure it doesn’t come to that again, here’s what you can do to show your love and support for your car.

  1. Change the oil

You should already know by now that oil is like blood to the car. If you don’t check or/and change its oil filters on time, it will give. Then you can look forward to a blown-up engine sometime in the future. Always replace the oil you have with a fresh one. Let your mechanic show you how to change it.

You should have it replaced after every 3000-5000 miles.

  1. Check the tires

A flat tire will make your driving feel distorted and weird. Make sure that they are properly inflated. The pressure has to be precise as prescribed by the manufacturer. You can easily get your hands on a tire gauge as they are cheap and simple to use.

When the tread wear indicators are showing between the treads, that is when you should have your tires changed. Get the mechanic to check up on it if you’re not sure about it.

  1. Give it a wash

There are two ways to clean your car; the car wash or yourself. The first option is pretty simple for those who hate having to work and costly at that. The second is for those who have no trouble getting their hands dirty and cleaned at the same as well as save up on car wash trips.

Just remember to properly wash and wax the car not only to keep the paint job fresh but also to keep it from getting any rust. Don’t forget about the interior for which you can use a good old power vacuum for the job.

  1. Inspect the cooling system

Unless you’re living in the cooler regions, there is no need to bother with this point. But for the rest, they have to flush the cooling system and change the coolant at least once a year. Distilled water and coolant are what will prevent corrosion’s and prevent deposits from building up.

  1. Windows should be clean and not broken

It rarely happens, but if your windows are broken, it is essential that you get them changed right away. Do not leave your car unnoticed after seeing a tiny windshield crack. You should have the decency of checking for cracks or any other kinds of damage on a regular basis.

You should have them fixed or replaced. Keep your distance when driving behind other cars especially a gravel truck. Even the smallest of the pebble is enough to leave a mark.

  1. Check the battery for corrosion

Other than inspecting if the battery is charged and filled with battery water, you should have it checked for any signs of corrosion’s. Try to avoid coming to the point where your run your battery down. Even with the use of jump start cables, it will take a big toll on your battery. Eventually, batteries will lose their luster and give out.

If you think you need to replace your battery then check the alternator to make sure if it still has some juice in it.

With all that being said, you and your car will be good to go from here on out.
