What is it?
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free 11 is file recovery software for recovering the deleted files on your storage devices, whether by you, by others or by some technical problem, even a hard drive re-formatting. It is comforting to know that there is a program like this available when you have lost important files such as work files, family photos, or other valuable information that hasn’t been properly backed up. The free data recovery software is free for download for both Macintosh and Windows computers
IMPORTANT: Do not install the file data recovery software on the primary disk from which you want to reclaim your data. If you do, you may overwrite some of the files you wish to recover. You will need a separate hard drive, flash drive, or another storage device on which to install the software. This may be a limiting factor for some users but is a very necessary precaution. Overwriting your files is not an option!
A Three Step Process
After you install the software, it takes three steps to recover your lost data.
The first step in the process is to launch the software, again, from a disk different from the primary disk.
The second step is for the program to scan the primary disk — the one with the lost files — for any recoverable information. It does this in two passes. The first pass is a quick scan for files that have been recently deleted or removed from the recycle bin. The second pass is a slower, more thorough sector scan which takes some time but checks all parts of the drive for all recoverable data. It is important that you do not interrupt the sector scan if you want to reclaim your lost files.
The third step is to review the results of the two-pass scan and select the files that you wish to recover. A preview window presents you with a thumbnail of recovered files and a checkbox next to each file. Click on the checkbox for each file you wish to reclaim. Save these files to a separate disk drive, flash drive or other location. DO NOT save them to the same primary drive!
Export your results
Finally, you can export the results of your scan and save them for future reference. This provides a record of all the files found on the primary disk and allows you to go back and recover more files if you don’t reclaim them all in the first session.
